In Cananea, Sonora, Mexico, Southern Copper, a US mining company is constantly breaking strikes, shooting down individual miners, and cooperating with drug traffickers via their friends, the local police. There is even an excellent film called ‘Cananea’ that gives some of the mining history of this town located one hour from Douglas, Arizona. Check it out some day!
